Gemini in Chrome Android Which Phones Can Run It

Gemini in Chrome Android: Which Phones Can Run It?

No Android phone currently supports the full Gemini in Chrome experience built directly into the browser. Google’s official Chrome documentation states that the feature is not yet available on Android phones or tablets.

This applies even to recent Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy and other flagship Android devices. Updating Chrome or installing a newer APK will not unlock the feature before Google enables it for Android.

Can You Use Gemini With Chrome on Android?

Yes, but through the Gemini mobile app, not the desktop-style Gemini panel inside Chrome.

When Gemini is set as your primary mobile assistant, you can open a webpage in Chrome and ask questions about the content shown on the screen. This provides some similar functions, such as explaining text, answering questions and summarizing a page.

Android Requirements for the Gemini App

Google lists the following minimum device requirements:

  • Android 9 or later
  • At least 2GB of RAM
  • A standard Android phone, foldable or tablet
  • A supported Google Account
  • Availability in a supported country and language

Android Go devices do not support the Gemini mobile app.

Region and Language Availability

The Gemini app is available in more than 150 countries and supports many languages, including English, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, French, German and Spanish.

Pakistan is included among the countries where users can download the Gemini app from Google Play. Some voice commands and assistant actions may not work in every supported language.

Account and Age Requirements

Users normally need to be at least 13 years old or meet the minimum age required in their country. Younger users require parental approval.

Work and school accounts must have Gemini Apps access enabled by the organization. Gemini cannot be accessed from an Android Work Profile.

Why Gemini May Not Appear on Your Phone

Gemini may be unavailable when:

  • The phone runs Android 8 or earlier.
  • The device has less than 2GB of RAM.
  • Android Go is installed.
  • The account or region is unsupported.
  • A workplace or school administrator has disabled access.
  • Google Play has not offered the app for that device.

Installing a different Chrome APK does not bypass these restrictions. Users who need the latest stable browser package can visit the verified Chrome APK download page, but Chrome and Gemini eligibility remain separate.

Which Android Phones Are Eligible?

Most phones running Android 9 or newer with at least 2GB RAM can use the Gemini mobile app. This includes many Pixel, Samsung Galaxy, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Realme and Motorola devices.

However, no Android model currently has access to the complete built-in Gemini in Chrome interface. Until Google announces an Android rollout, users should use the Gemini app’s screen features while browsing in Chrome.
